Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how GenesInk collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you visit our website https://www.genesink.com (the « Website ») or otherwise interact with us.
1. Who we are
The data controller is GenesInk, a French société anonyme (joint stock company), registered with the Trade and Companies Register of Aix-en-Provence under number B 525 305 017, whose registered office is located at 39 Avenue Gaston Imbert, 13790 Rousset, France.
For any question regarding this policy or the processing of your personal data, you can contact us by email at administration@genesink.com or contact@genesink.com, by phone at +33 (0)4 42 37 05 80, or by post at our registered office.
2. Personal data we collect and why
Forms and enquiries. When you complete one of our forms (contact, quotation, technical data sheet request), we collect your first and last name, business email address, phone number, company and the content of your message. This data is used to answer your request and to manage the commercial relationship. Legal basis: pre-contractual measures taken at your request and our legitimate interest in responding to you.
Account and orders. If you place an order through the Website, we collect the information needed to process it: identity, company name, SIRET number, intra-community VAT number, billing and delivery address, and order history. Legal basis: performance of the contract and compliance with our legal (accounting and tax) obligations.
Comments. When you leave a comment on the Website, the data entered in the comment form, as well as your IP address and browser user-agent string, are collected to help detect spam. An anonymised string created from your email address (a « hash ») may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it (privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/).
Media. If you upload images to the Website, please avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors can download and extract that data.
Cookies and audience measurement. The Website uses cookies and an audience-measurement solution to understand how the Website is used and to improve it. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.
Embedded content from other websites. Articles on this Website may include embedded content (videos, images, forms, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies and monitor your interaction with that content.
3. Who we share your data with
We never sell your personal data. We only share it with service providers strictly necessary to operate the Website and our activity (in particular our hosting provider, our CRM and form provider, our email and audience-measurement providers, and an automated spam-detection service for comments). These providers act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
4. How long we keep your data
- Enquiries and contact requests: kept for the time needed to process them and up to three (3) years after our last contact for prospecting purposes.
- Customer and order data: kept for the duration of the commercial relationship and then archived to meet applicable legal retention periods (in particular accounting and tax obligations).
- Comments and their metadata: kept indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically.
5. Your rights over your data
In accordance with the French Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, update, erase and port your data, as well as the right to restrict and object to its processing.
You can exercise these rights at any time by email at administration@genesink.com or by post to our registered office. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).
6. International transfers
Where some of our providers process data outside the European Economic Area, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place (in particular the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses) to guarantee an adequate level of protection.
7. How we protect your data
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction, including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission, access control and regular security updates.
8. Data-breach procedure
In the event of a personal-data breach likely to create a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the CNIL and, where required, the individuals concerned, in accordance with applicable law.
9. Contact
For any request relating to your personal data, contact us at administration@genesink.com.
