GenesInk confirms its expansion in Asia with the signing of a framework agreement with a major automotive OEM for the integration of in-mold electronics (IME) sensors in next-generation vehicles.
The partnership covers the qualification of GenesInk silver nanoinks for capacitive touch surfaces, heating elements, and structural sensors embedded directly inside plastic parts via thermoforming.
This agreement materializes the strategic shift initiated with the opening of our Nagoya office in 2025 and reinforces our position as a key European supplier of printed electronics solutions for the global automotive industry.
GenesInk develops conductive and semi-conductive nanoinks sustainably for aeronautics application. Our nanoinks allow you to create smart integrated antennas on composite and polymer materials by spray coating and printing techniques. Our technology has an excellent adhesion and conductivity on both rough and smooth surface with high radio performance in relevant environment (TRL 5-6). We can further optimize our nanoinks with your own specifications as well as develop novel nanoinks dedicated to your applications:
Nanoinks based on Ag nanoparticles and flakes for integrated printed electronic devices (e.g. antennas, sensors, etc.). Thickness up to 40 µm if required.

Advanced materials and processing in organic electronics
MADRAS project aims to demonstrate a materials-driven improvement of OLAE devices, establishing a high speed manufacturing methodology in a scalable competitive process which is In Mold Hybrid Printed Electronics (IMHyPE).
Four high performance materials to be developed in MADRAS tackle high cost, instability and short lifetime of OLAE devices under operational conditions through the development of robust alternatives and innovative approaches. Such materials are a conductive and transparent substrate, a semiconducting transparent ink based on organic components, a transparent conductive silver nanowire-based ink and a semiconductor ink based on metal oxide nanoparticles.
MADRAS project also addresses the need for innovative and industrial manufacturing processes for the development of robust series of flexible plastronic products. Building on an already established technology as plastic injection, will facilitate a faster uptaking. The advantages of IMHyPE are numerous and include light weighting, space-saving, robustness, accelerated time-to-market, and high throughput capabilities. It will demonstrate processability, stability, operational lifetime and seamless integration of new products as well as of new technology into traditional goods. Therefore, MADRAS proposes two products for persons’ authentication market and smart manufacturing that will show a step forward towards digitisation and Internet of Things for its contribution to the sustainable deployment of smart products for consumer use. Ethical issues are properly addressed.
Such products belong to the global emerging trend of structural electronics with very large addressable markets as Automotive sector, healthcare and many others.
The workplan sets and consolidates the value chain through the participation of six SMES, four RTOs, one large company and one standardisation association completing MADRAS consortium assuring high impact boosting activities.
GenesInk is participating in this European collaborative H2020 project as:
Leader in the improvement of Ag nanowires based nanoinks for the bottom transparent electrode and of WOx nanomaterials synthesis, doping and then formulation onto nanoinks for Hole Transport Layers (HTL)
Partner in screen printing, inkjet printing and spray printing tests required to assess the characterisation of the printed layers

Project TEESMAT – Open innovation test bed for electrochemical energy storage materials
Despite more than 200 years of development of batteries, the physical limits of battery performance are far from being reached. The complexity of physio-chemical processes inside batteries render any development strongly dependent on a proper description and monitoring of the inherent evolution and interaction of all materials involved in the functioning of an electrochemical cell. It can be said that rarely any progress in a technology where all basic processes are understood did depend so much on characterization than electrochemical energy storage systems. The mean figures of merit (specific energy per mass, volume or cost unit, cyclability) can all theoretically be substantially improved, under the condition of a proper understanding of where and how their limits are reached in today’s industrialized systems. This underlines how much this important branch of our technological future depends on novel and accessible characterization techniques.
Given this grand challenge, access to advanced characterisation solutions for the EU industry will be key to accelerate innovation and reduce the large cost share of materials. However, several bottlenecks are preventing access by companies to novel techniques, to which TEESMAT brings a comprehensive response by leveraging European strengths from 11 Countries and facilitating access to physical facilities, capabilities and services implementing novel characterisation solutions with unprecedented capability & performance.
Instrumental to this is the launch of a sustainable Open Innovation Test Bed in which qualified public/private partners will demonstrate high-value services for materials advanced characterisation on industrial cases in the value chain of electrochemical energy storage systems.
Faced with Covid-19, GenesInk has been able to adapt to a new context, maintaining contact with its customers and giving priority to employee’s morale and safety. This required a new organization to ensure the company’s sustainability.
Covid-19 crisis at GenesInk was dealt in a four-step process:
Measures taken to close the facility following the containment decree.
Measures taken to finance the decrease in activity.
Implementation of security procedures.
Resumption of activity: partial, total in degraded mode.
1.Premises closing: March 16th, 2020
At first, to face this health crisis, the most important thing was to be proactive and quickly inform customers and employees about the economic measures and health precautions taken within the company in accordance with government recommendations.
This crisis communication required reactivity, take decisions quickly. The aim was to reassure on the awareness of the critical situation and the measures taken during this crisis. Communicate on our actions, show our clients that we are always available, even during this period of lock down. We ensured that our team was mobilized to answer customer’s questions and continue to provide them with quality service.
GenesInk kept a minimum of employees on homeoffice to carry out part of the activity in compliance with health regulations and to understand what are the measures to put in place to restart the activity.
2.Financial:
GenesInk had to face the economic impact of Covid-19.
Indeed, in a macro environmental context where almost all the companies are stopped or have closed their production sites due to the containment, we had to overcome the lack of income and request financial aid.
GenesInk has anticipated and implemented all the administrative procedures put in place by the French government and request the banks support.
In regards to its innovative company status, the French government back-up all bank loans requested by GenesInk. Today GenesInk maintains a good financial records despite the crisis.
3. Security procedure : April 1st, 2020
How did we prepare for the Covid-19 outbreak?
A situation of epidemic imposes a particular vigilance in the interest of employees and companies. Containment continues, but GenesInk had to take the necessary measures to ensure safety and protect the physical and moral health of employees. The company has prepared for the resumption of its activity. This is why security measures have been put in place in order to resume work in safe conditions.
The management appointed our QEHS manager as the reference manager for ensuring all COVID-19 counter measures with GenesInk. She has put in place very strict hygiene instructions, in a safety procedure to ensure the protection of the health of the personnel after evaluation of the risk of contagion in the company. All the material such as mask and hydroalcoolic gel was available in the office.
The activity restart partially with the strict minimum of employees to insure the production and delivery.
Our CEO, Corinne Versini, offered all employees the possibility to consult a psychologist in order to deal with stress during lock-down.
4.Work resumption : April 30th, 2020
GenesInk was prepared and ready for a full recovery of all employees in a degraded mode to start with.
On top of Hydro-alcoholic gel and masks glass separation are available in the office in order to avoid face to face close situation, team rotations are set up, limitation of travel and meetings, teleworking and reorganization of production have therefore been gradually implemented.
The resumption of work on site is gradual and partial, which is more secure, while respecting the rules that have been put in place and the French law.
Certainly, destabilized in the organization of work and production, GenesInk has acted with pragmatism and responsibility to protect its employees , secure its future and the continuity of business with its customer.
The company has really taken into account this particular situation, and has reassured all the staff, and has presented them their rights throughout this crisis context.
GenesInk is proud to have signed the Responsible Care Global Charter.
The Responsible Care initiative is a voluntary commitment by the global chemical industry to promote continuous improvement and achieve environmental, health and safety excellence.
