Faced with Covid-19, GenesInk has been able to adapt to a new context, maintaining contact with its customers and giving priority to employee’s morale and safety. This required a new organization to ensure the company’s sustainability.
Covid-19 crisis at GenesInk was dealt in a four-step process:
- Measures taken to close the facility following the containment decree.
- Measures taken to finance the decrease in activity.
- Implementation of security procedures.
- Resumption of activity: partial, total in degraded mode.
1.Premises closing: March 16th, 2020
At first, to face this health crisis, the most important thing was to be proactive and quickly inform customers and employees about the economic measures and health precautions taken within the company in accordance with government recommendations.
This crisis communication required reactivity, take decisions quickly. The aim was to reassure on the awareness of the critical situation and the measures taken during this crisis. Communicate on our actions, show our clients that we are always available, even during this period of lock down. We ensured that our team was mobilized to answer customer’s questions and continue to provide them with quality service.
GenesInk kept a minimum of employees on homeoffice to carry out part of the activity in compliance with health regulations and to understand what are the measures to put in place to restart the activity.
2.Financial:
GenesInk had to face the economic impact of Covid-19.
Indeed, in a macro environmental context where almost all the companies are stopped or have closed their production sites due to the containment, we had to overcome the lack of income and request financial aid.
GenesInk has anticipated and implemented all the administrative procedures put in place by the French government and request the banks support.
In regards to its innovative company status, the French government back-up all bank loans requested by GenesInk. Today GenesInk maintains a good financial records despite the crisis.
3. Security procedure : April 1st, 2020
How did we prepare for the Covid-19 outbreak?
A situation of epidemic imposes a particular vigilance in the interest of employees and companies. Containment continues, but GenesInk had to take the necessary measures to ensure safety and protect the physical and moral health of employees. The company has prepared for the resumption of its activity. This is why security measures have been put in place in order to resume work in safe conditions.
The management appointed our QEHS manager as the reference manager for ensuring all COVID-19 counter measures with GenesInk. She has put in place very strict hygiene instructions, in a safety procedure to ensure the protection of the health of the personnel after evaluation of the risk of contagion in the company. All the material such as mask and hydroalcoolic gel was available in the office.
The activity restart partially with the strict minimum of employees to insure the production and delivery.
Our CEO, Corinne Versini, offered all employees the possibility to consult a psychologist in order to deal with stress during lock-down.
4.Work resumption : April 30th, 2020
GenesInk was prepared and ready for a full recovery of all employees in a degraded mode to start with.
On top of Hydro-alcoholic gel and masks glass separation are available in the office in order to avoid face to face close situation, team rotations are set up, limitation of travel and meetings, teleworking and reorganization of production have therefore been gradually implemented.
The resumption of work on site is gradual and partial, which is more secure, while respecting the rules that have been put in place and the French law.
Certainly, destabilized in the organization of work and production, GenesInk has acted with pragmatism and responsibility to protect its employees , secure its future and the continuity of business with its customer.
The company has really taken into account this particular situation, and has reassured all the staff, and has presented them their rights throughout this crisis context.
